Welcome back, everyone! It's time to bring our group out of hibernation and kick off 2018 in style. We have a full agenda, so we'll be starting up at 6:30 sharp. Here's what we'll do:
- Meetup re-launch discussion
In order to make this group a viable, ongoing enterprise we need to talk about what we expect to get out of the group, and decide how will we endeavor to achieve that.
- Gutenberg is coming...soon! (We think.)
The next major release of WordPress will include "Gutenberg", a new editor that represents a drastic change in the way we will create and edit pages and posts. Besides being a new user experience, the arrival of Gutenberg portends major implications for theme and plugin developers. We'll get a preview of Gutenberg, and discuss how (or whether) we can prepare for it.
- Online graphics in a snap
Back in the day, creating some nice, relatively simple graphics for a website tended to be a rather challenging and/or expensive and/or time-consuming undertaking. Should I purchase and spend time learning a suite of complex, pricey graphics tools? Should I hire someone else to do it for me? Now, a new class of inexpensive (in some cases free) online tools allows you to create your own graphics quickly and easily. We'll demo one of them, and look at some of the other options available to you.

REGARDING REFRESHMENTS: We hope to acquire another sponsor who will underwrite purchasing some food and drink for our meetings. Stay tuned for an announcement about that.
